General Questions
Questions About Mobile Repair
You book an appointment, tell us what's going on with your vehicle, and we come to you. Our mobile mechanic arrives at your home, workplace, or wherever your vehicle is located with everything needed to diagnose and repair it on the spot. No tow truck, no waiting room, no hassle.
A mobile mechanic can handle most of the same repairs and maintenance you'd get at a traditional shop. That includes oil changes, brake repair, diagnostics, battery replacement, starter and alternator work, tune ups, and much more. We also service motorcycles, small engines, and offer fleet maintenance plans.
Yes. A qualified mobile mechanic uses the same professional tools, parts, and techniques as a traditional shop. Glacier Peak Auto is operated by Robert Snide, a Master Automotive Technician with over 20 years of experience. The quality of the repair comes down to the mechanic and team, not the building.
The main limitation is any job that requires a hydraulic lift. That includes full transmission rebuilds, major suspension overhauls, and frame work, but for those large projects our team will transport your vehicle to our private shop, conduct the repairs, and have it delivered back to your doorstep before you know it's even gone. For everything else, including diagnostics, brakes, electrical, engine work, and routine maintenance, we handle it on site.
Not necessarily. As long as we can access your vehicle and have a safe place to work, you don't need to be there the whole time. Many of our customers schedule service at their workplace or leave their vehicle in the driveway while they go about their day.
No. Federal law protects your right to have your vehicle serviced by any qualified mechanic without voiding the manufacturer warranty. The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for dealerships to require you to use their service department to keep your warranty valid.
Just make sure we can access your vehicle and that it's parked on a flat, stable surface like a driveway or parking lot. If you know what symptoms you're experiencing, write them down so you can share the details when Robert arrives. That's really all you need to do.
We work in Montana, so we're used to weather. Light rain or snow usually isn't a problem for most repairs. If conditions get severe enough to affect safety or the quality of the repair, we'll reschedule at no extra cost. We'll always communicate with you ahead of time if weather looks like an issue.
Pricing
Costs and Payment
Mobile mechanic service is priced competitively with traditional shops, but the real value is your time. No tow trucks, no waiting rooms, no rearranging your schedule. We provide upfront estimates before any work begins so you always know the cost ahead of time.
Travel fees depend on your location within the Flathead Valley. For most customers in Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, and the surrounding area, the travel fee is minimal and always disclosed upfront when you book. There are never hidden charges or surprise fees added to your bill.
Yes. Give us a call or fill out the contact form and describe what's going on with your vehicle. We'll provide an honest estimate of what the repair should cost before scheduling anything. There's no pressure and no obligation.
We accept cash, credit cards, and debit cards. Payment is collected when the job is complete and you're satisfied with the work. For fleet customers on a service plan, we can arrange invoicing that fits your business needs.
Yes. When we give you an estimate, it includes both parts and labor. We use quality parts from trusted suppliers and never cut corners with cheap aftermarket components. The price you approve before the repair starts is the price you pay.

Fleet Services
Business and Fleet
Mobile fleet maintenance means we come to your business location and service your work vehicles on site. We work with a range of businesses across the Flathead Valley including construction companies, property management firms, landscapers, delivery services, healthcare providers, and any business that relies on vehicles to operate. Fleet size doesn't matter. If you have work vehicles, we can help.
Absolutely. We work with your business to create a custom maintenance schedule based on your fleet size, vehicle types, and how hard your vehicles are working. Regular scheduled service prevents breakdowns, extends vehicle life, and keeps your operations running smoothly.
Mobile fleet service eliminates the need to send vehicles to a shop, which means no transit time, no waiting in a service queue, and no lost productivity. Your vehicles get maintained at your location during off hours or scheduled windows so they stay on the road earning money.
